Local Resources
Keokuk is a small community that together with it's neighbors make
up the "Tri-state" area. Anchored to the Mississippi River by lock
and dam 19, boating is a very popular form of recreation during warm months.
From Main st. to historic Grand Avenue you can see the spirit of community
that makes Keokuk a city of neighbors and friends.

Calendar of events for Keokuk Senior High School and Keokuk Middle School. The Keokuk school system has wide support from the community, which is demonstrated by the new Middle school and well attended and supported school athletics programs.
Area Schools"With approximately 2,200 young people in the seven schools run by the Keokuk Community School Distric, it's no surprise area residents place such a great emphasis on bringing children up with a comprehensive, high-quality education. Seven public schools- George Washington Elementary, Hawthorne Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Torrence Elementary, Wells-Carey Elementary, Keokuk Middle and Keokuk High- provide programming in the basics of reading, writing, math and science but with a progressive, adaptive mindset that prepares students for life's chalenges and opportunities."

The library isn't just books, there are galleries and lectures on a regular basis, Kids reading programs, CDs and DVDs. Check out their web site and take a look at their "blog". The Keokuk Library will "stimulate ideas advance knowledge to preserve the local heritage" for our community and out children.
The Keokuk Police Department and other area first responders provide Keokuk with a safe and secure environment for us to live and work. The dedicated members of this special group are an intregral part of the community.
Churches
Keokuk has many churches that support the communities diverse spiritual needs. From the Mormon Temple in Nauvoo to Keokuk All Saints Parish and Catholic schools here in Keokuk.
Shopping
Keokuk enjoys a Super-Wallmart near one end of Main St. and Rivercity Mall just before the bridge at the other. Main St. itself has a wide range of stores and shops to visit. Everything from pets, to fine clothing, discount, and a host of others that present you with a less hurried style of shopping and a wide variety of products and services.
